Forest School
At. St James’ we are very fortunate to have large grounds, with green spaces for the children to enjoy. Throughout the year, classes take it in turns to go out to our special Forest School area and participate in outdoor activities and problem solving using the nature around them. Children become involved in activities such as whittling to make tools, making a bed for a teddy bear and making maps, using twigs and leaves etc.
The Forest School Leader at St. James’ has a qualification in Forest School Leadership; this is a nationally held qualification which is a prerequisite of the post. Our Forest Leader is Mrs. Melanie Deasy.
